QUARRYVILLE -- The Quarryville Library will present a
program on Coin
Collecting.
Coin
collector David Jordan will talk about the wonderful coins we can find in our pocket change these days. From fascinating State Quarters to beautiful Westward Journey nickels to the upcoming Presidential Golden Dollars there have never been so many new coins in circulation for American collectors. Included in the program will be information about collecting World Coins from the present and the past.
Jordan was awarded the 2005 James N. Wagner Award as the Outstanding Numismatist in Central Pennsylvania by the Red Rose Coin Club.
A display of American and World Coins will be in the display case in the lobby of the Quarryville Library Jordan will be present on Saturday,
May 6, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. to show visitors coins from the display and to answer any questions you may have.
He will also be present from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, May
13 to answer any questions.
"There are coins made from dog teeth, almonds, fish hooks and
even a bronze coin dating back to 500 BC," said Katrina
Anderson, Quarryville Library Director.
Magnifying reader will be available for examining coins
for the month of May.
Examples of all the State Quarters will be available then
if you need help completing your collection.
They will cost 25 cents each. The Library is located at
375 Buck Road, Quarryville.
