Explore Winter Wetlands
at PPL’s Brunner Island Environmental Preserve
HOLTWOOD -- Many birds spend their winters in wetlands while amphibians become dormant under the water. Embark on a winter walk and enjoy the many sights and sounds of wetlands at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 9, at PPL’s Brunner Island Environmental Preserve.
Jim Smith, PPL naturalist, will lead this informative walk around the wetlands while discussing wildlife that inhabit the area, including wood ducks, frogs, turtles and many more. Please dress for the weather.
The program, which is free and open to the public, will begin at the Brunner Island wetland pavilion located off Wago Road, across from Gate A. In the case of inclement weather, the walk will be canceled. For directions, visit
