Quarryville
Lion Cited for Community Service
QUARRYVILLE -- Lions serve and Scott Peiffer, secretary of the Quarryville Lions Club, is a good example. Rep. Bryan Cutler recently honored Peiffer for his “dedicated civic endeavors” by presenting him with an official Pennsylvania House of Representatives citation in recognition of his receipt of the prestigious Lions of Pennsylvania Foundation Fellowship Award.
The fellowship award was originally presented by Lion Stephen S. Grosh, Region I chairperson for District 14-D, which encompasses all of southern Lancaster County, Christiana Borough and Salisbury and Paradise Townships. The Lions of Pennsylvania Foundation is a public, non-profit, tax exempt entity that was started about eight years ago to recognize Lions throughout the state for their outstanding service to the community and there club.
Peiffer, a Quarryville resident who has served as a Lion since 1990, was very surprised to receive the award. He was even more surprised to be honored by Cutler at a later meeting.
“I really do appreciate it. It should be for the whole club, not just me,” Peiffer said. “This is definitely an
honor!”
