SECA Offers Fireworks By Jeanne Ruczhak-Eckman QUARRYVILLE
-- Catch the fireworks next Saturday at SECA's Annual SECA Fest. The annual
community-oriented event will be held Saturday, July 12 from 4 p.m. to 10
p.m. at Memorial Park in Quarryville. As usual there will be various
carnival-like stands supporting local organizations, pony rides and
inflatable rides. Julie Collins, executive director at SECA, confirmed the
fireworks will occur as usual as well. Collins also said this year there
will be a special booth at which funds raised will benefit local auctioneer
Larry Whyte. Whyte, active in so many ways in the community, was critically injured in a car accident
and is still recuperating.
Digital Photography Class Comes to
Conclusion

-- The Digital Photography Class will be conducted at the
Quarryville Library on Monday, July 28, 2008 at 10:30am.
The agenda is as follows:
Q & A; review & critiquing of night and firework photography.
Any new parade photos will be critiqued as time permits.
Also to be discussed, if time permits, will be: introduction on do’s and don’ts;
what it takes to have a photo published; what it takes to enter and win in a photo contest.

-- Birth Care & Family Health Services is sponsoring a series of health meetings at their facility in Georgetown. The next one is targeted to women and will be on Wednesday morning, July 16 at 9
a.m.. Topics will include both natural hormonal therapies and skin care.

-- The annual National Juried Art Exhibition of the Lancaster County Art Association opens Sunday, June 8, with a reception from 1 to 5 PM. The works accepted into the exhibit were chosen by this year's juror, Australian/American artist and writer Denise Green, who also chose pieces for awards from those accepted.
