Electric Guitar Exams To Be Launched in the U.S.
QUARRYVILLE -- In what’s been described as “The biggest British music invasion since the 1960s”, members of The Beatles and The Rolling Stones return to the U.S. – but this time it’s to support guitar education…
The Registry of Guitar Tutors (RGT) has been established since 1992 as the foremost membership
organization for guitar teachers in Europe and many other countries across the world. RGT has a number of world-renowned musicians as patrons, including Paul McCartney, Ronnie Wood of The Rolling Stones and David Gilmour of Pink Floyd. RGT
organizes highly successful graded examinations and diplomas in electric, acoustic, bass and classical guitar, and popular music theory, in Europe and many other countries around the world. In addition, RGT publishes a catalogue of music education resources, and has recently entered into a long-term agreement with Mel Bay Publications for the distribution and promotion of these publications across the US.
RGT examinations organized in partnership with London College of Music Examinations, one of the world’s most respected music examination boards, established in 1887.
To satisfy requests for guitar examinations in North America, RGT has recently begun appointing RGT teacher-representatives based in the US and from October 2007 onwards will begin to offer its full range of graded guitar examinations across all regions of the US.
