George Fox Friends School will hold a Kindergarten Information Seminar
OXFORD -- George Fox Friends School will hold a Kindergarten Information Seminar (K.I.S.) on June 19, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at the school which is located in Cochranville, PA. Come find out what ooblek is; come find out how long a whale’s tongue is; come find out how you teach the word “perspective” to a kindergartner; come find out how even musical instruments have families. How do these things pertain to the education of a five year old?

Linda Uberseder, Founder of the School and Kindergarten teacher, can answer these questions and will lead the information seminar. She will talk about five-year-olds and how parents can tell if they are ready to make the developmental step into kindergarten. She will offer a list of milestones and behaviors that indicate a readiness to meet the challenges of today’s kindergarten classroom. Kindergartners are unique. They are curious about life and learning, they love unconditionally, and they go into every situation with great anticipation, creativity and enthusiasm. Teacher Linda will describe the unique kindergarten curriculum, at George Fox, which is tailored to these interesting little people and their individual needs. The goal of the program is provide nourishment to a child’s body, mind, and spirit; to teach the child in the way that he/she takes in information – visually, orally, and kinesthetically.

She will also describe the half-day and full day programs offered at the school, tuition options, and the extended day program.
