10,000th MRAP Delivered To DoD
WASHINGTON, DC -- The rapid response by the Department of Defense to protect the warfighters reached a major milestone today when the 10,000th Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle rolled off the assembly line and into government hands.

DoD Announces Nomination of First Female Four-Star General
WASHINGTON, DC -- Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates announced Monday that the President has nominated Lt. Gen. Ann E. Dunwoody of the Army for appointment to the grade of general and assignment as commander, Army Materiel Command.

PA Soldier Killed in Afghanistan
WASHINGTON, DC -- The Department of Defense announced the death of two soldiers who were supporting Operation Enduring Freedom. They died June 3 in Zormat, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when their vehicle encountered an improvised explosive device. Killed were: Maj. Scott A. Hagerty, 41, of Stillwater, Okla., who was assigned to the 451st Civil Affairs Battalion, Pasadena, Texas. Pfc. Derek D. Holland, 20, of Wind Gap, Pa., who was assigned to the 228th Brigade Support Battalion, Pennsylvania Army National Guard, Bethlehem, Pa.

Airmen MIA From Vietnam War are Identified
WASHINGTON, DC -- The Department of Defense POW/Missing Personnel Office (DPMO) announced Tuesday that the remains of four U.S. servicemen, missing in action from the Vietnam War, have been identified and will be returned to their families for burial with full military honors.
Soldier Missing In Action From Korean War Is Identified
WASHINGTON, DC -- The Department of Defense POW/Missing Personnel Office announced last week that the remains of a U.S. serviceman, missing in action from the Korean War, have been identified and will be returned to his family for burial with full military honors. He is Pfc. Milton Dinerboiler Jr., U.S. Army, of Elkhart, Ind. His burial date is being set by his family.
 
Major General William B. Lynch Named To Department of Military and Veterans Affairs Hall of Fame
FORT INDIANTOWN GAP -- Maj. Gen. William B. Lynch (USAF-Ret.), the 49th adjutant general of Pennsylvania and a veteran of the Vietnam War, was inducted today into the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs Hall of Fame.
