Robert J. Alexander
Robert J. Alexander, age 63, of 1003 Dry Wells Road, Quarryville died Wednesday afternoon (January 2) at Lancaster General Hospital of natural causes. Robert and his wife Lynne Mumma Alexander celebrated 39 ½ years of marriage. He was born in Melbourne, Australia and came to the United States when he was 2 years and 3 months old, residing in Fairfield most of his life. His mother is Merna Joy Graham Alexander Bradley of Wakefield. His father was the late Robert J. Alexander.

Robert was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church, Quarryville where he served as a trustee and on various church committees. He was employed as a technician, operating the electron scanning microscope for RCA, GE, and Thomson for 44 years. In 1975 he received the technician award. On December 4, 1984 he and his partner, John Hale, received ownership of a patent for a bead strap having an angulated grasping member. Robert was a graduate of Solanco High School and a member of Washington Lodge #156, F&AM, Quarryville.

A very loving and gentle man he is survived by his wife and mother; two daughters, Holly Ann married to Greg Ank of Platte City, MO and Heather Leigh married to Curtis Lee Appler of Quarryville; two grandchildren Briana Noelle Ank and Justin Alexander Ank. Funeral services will be held from Memorial United Methodist Church, 101 South Hess Street, Quarryville, PA on Saturday at 11:00AM with Rev. John Longmire officiating. Interment will follow in Quarryville Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the church from 10:00AM until the time of service. Kindly omit flowers.
