George Franklin Baker
George Franklin Baker, age 72, of New Providence went home to be with his Lord on Thursday morning (August 7, 2008) at his residence following a one and a half year battle with pancreatic cancer. He and his wife Janet Beck Baker would have celebrated 54 years of marriage on August 22nd. George was born in Little Britain Township a son of the late Harry M. and Alice Wicks Baker. He was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, Strasburg. George retired from NTN-BCA, formerly Federal Mogul, after forty two and a half years of service where he was employed as an assembler. He enjoyed gardening, antique tractors and collecting toy trucks and cars. Surviving beside his wife are a daughter Brenda; a son Bruce; and a sister Helen Gallagher. George was preceded in death by eight brothers, Harry, Charles, Lawrence, Arthur, Herbert, Royal, Claude, and John; and five sisters, Naomi Baker, Florence Hall, Elsie Mitchell, Mabel Trent, and Jean Bemis.
