Richard Hanks
Richard R. Hanks, age 81, of 1026 Osceola Drive, Drumore, died Sunday morning at Lancashire Hall, Lancaster. He and his wife, Rose Ankrum Hanks celebrated 60 years of marriage on May 1st. He was born in Helton Township, Ashe, NC a son of the late James Ambrose and Annie Bellie
Porter Hanks. Mr. Hanks worked various jobs throughout his life, as a mechanic,
as a constable for Drumore Township, as a projectionist for Sky View, Comet, and
Park City Theaters, and owned and operated Hanks Saw Shop in Drumore. He was a
member of Chestnut Level Presbyterian Church, Quarryville and a member of Fulton
Grange # 66.
Surviving beside his wife are a daughter, Rose Ann wife of James D. Jones of Burleson, TX, and two sons, David L. and Timothy A. both of Drumore; 5 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Chestnut Level Presbyterian Church, 1068 Chestnut Level Road, Quarryville, PA on Saturday, May 31st at 2:00PM with Rev. Michael R. Wilson officiating.
