Esther L Kunkel, 85, of 476 Haiti Road, Quarryville, PA, died Tuesday, August 19, 2008 at the Lancaster General Hospital after a brief illness. She is preceded in death by her husband, Earl G. Kunkel, who passed away in July, 1995.
Born in Colrein Township, she was the daughter of the late Blair and Tillie Bensinger Swinehart. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Jane G. Owens, wife of Douglas Owens, Lancaster and her grandson, Jeffrey Skojec and his wife, Sherri, Lititz. Also surviving are brothers, Richard L Hall and his wife, Jeanne, David McCollough and his wife, Nancy and several nieces and nephews and three step-grandchildren.
Esther retired from the former RCA in 1983, after 36 years of service. She enjoyed search word puzzles and her hobby of 40 years, scrapbooking current events from local newspapers.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, Bertha Holbein, Ethel Traub, Catherine Kauffman, Helen Ann Greist and two brothers, James Swinehart and Charles McCollough. Friends are invited to attend the funeral service on Monday, August 25, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. from the Reynolds Funeral Home, 144 East State Street, Quarryville, PA.
