Judith "Judy" McComsey
Judith E. “Judy” McComsey, age 68, of 104-B Green Tree Road, Quarryville died Sunday morning at Essa Flory Hospice Center following a courageous battle with cancer. Judy was the wife of William C. McComsey. She was born in Lancaster, a daughter of Melvin E. and Thelma E. Davis Simpson. Judy worked for the former Schick Company for 13 years, then for the Swan Hotel, Strasburg for 12 years and Gap VFW for 5 years. She was a member of American Legion, Post #0194, Rising Sun, MD and P.J. Bair Post #7418 Veterans of Foreign Wars, Gap. Judy enjoyed gospel and bluegrass music, motorcycle riding and fishing. Surviving beside her husband are two daughters, Denise wife of Grant Eller of Peach Bottom, Danette wife of Brian Weaver of Akron; a brother Melvin “Chip” Simpson; a sister Carol wife of Don Nicklaus; and three grandchildren, Courtney Adams, Meredith Weaver, and Alec Weaver. Judy was preceded in death by daughter Dawn. A Memorial service will be held from the Reynolds Funeral Home, 144 East State Street, Quarryville, PA on Friday at 12:00 Noon.
