Charles McCoy, Jr.
Charles L. McCoy, Jr., age 87, of Monticello, IN, formerly of Lancaster, PA died Saturday morning March 22 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Lafayette, IN. Born July 27, 1920 in Collingdale, PA he graduated from Sharon Hill High School in 1939, and in 1940 from Wyoming Seminary. He also graduated from Millersville State Teachers College. Mr. McCoy was a teacher and had served as a commander and pilot in the Navy during World War II and retired from the reserves in 1969. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and Military Officers Association of America. An avid sailor, he was a member of the Bohemia River Sailing Association and Springfield Trail Club. He enjoyed woodworking and the outdoors.

Surviving are two daughters, Margie married to Joe Dubes of Monticello, IN and Vivian married to Mark Houston of Omaha, NE; a sister Roberta McCoy Kollar, of Harrisburg, PA; grandchildren, Jason Houston, Justin Houston, Jennifer Houston, and Joseph E. Dubes, IV , Charles C. Dubes; 2 great grandchildren, Carson Dubes and Myleigh Dubes. He married Vivian Kreider on November 5, 1942, and after a life of servitude and family, she preceded him in death June 2, 2004. Funeral services will be held from the Reynolds Funeral Home, 144 East State Street, Quarryville, PA on Saturday at 11:00AM with Pastor Tom Lefever officiating. Interment will follow in Quarryville Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00AM until the time of service.
