Walter J. McDevitt
Walter J. McDevitt, age 68, of 30 Marie Drive, Quarryville died Friday (February 8) morning at his residence of natural causes. He was the husband of Theresa J. Rankel McDevitt. Walter was born in Philadelphia, a son of the late Leo and Irene Howard McDevitt. He had been employed as a maintenance technician for Exolon – Philadelphia Electric for 32 years, retiring in July 2000. Walter was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, Quarryville. Mr. DcDevitt served as a peacetime US Army veteran. Surviving beside his wife are 3 children, Walter J. McDevitt, Jr. of Willow Street, Tricia married to Eric J. Pownall of Quarryville, and Terri McDevitt of TN; 3 grandsons and a grand daughter. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held from St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 955 Robert Fulton Highway, Quarryville, PA on Thursday at 10:00AM. with Rev. Ronald J. Moratelli as celebrant. Final commendation and farewell will be private. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 9:00AM until the time of service at the church. Kindly omit flowers.
