W. Roger Small, Jr.
W. Roger Small, Jr., age 94, of 1121 Colonial Road, Lancaster died Thursday morning (July 3) at The Glen at Willow Valley. He and his wife Helen Feiler Small were married 60 years this past November. Roger was born in Baltimore, MD, a son of the late William Roger, Sr. and Ara Tabitha Clagett Small. He was a graduate of John Hopkins University where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. A US veteran, Roger served during World War II with the Army Corp of Engineers, serving in Egypt, Palestine, and Italy. Mr. Small was a PP&L retiree, working as a supervisor at the hydro-steam generating station in Holtwood, retiring in 1979 after 45 years of service. Surviving beside his wife is a daughter Marjorie Glassner; two grandchildren Kristen wife of Paul Karl and Kerin Glassner; two great grandchildren Patrick Karl and Ryan Karl. Funeral services will be held from the Reynolds Funeral Home, 144 East State Street on Tuesday, July 8th at 11:00AM. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00AM until the time of service. A private family interment will follow the funeral service.
