Carl R. “Pap” Waltman, Sr.Carl R. “Pap” Waltman, Sr. age 70, of 4686 White Oak Road, Paradise died Tuesday evening at Lancaster General Hospital following a five and a half year battle with cancer. He and his wife Helen I. Boyd Waltman celebrated 46 years of marriage last November. Carl was born in Lancaster, a son of the late Martin H. and Dorothy Mae Banzhof Waltman. He had been employed as a produce truck driver for Scheid Produce and Bill Byers. In retirement he worked part time for Strasburg Auto & Cycle. He was a peacetime US Army veteran. He enjoyed bird watching, word puzzles, gardening and his grandchildren. Surviving beside his wife are two children, Carl R. Jr. companion of Deb Flaud of Paradise and Robyn A. wife of Jeremy Haynes of Strasburg; 5 grandchildren; 3 sisters, Janet Helm, Carol Waltman, Dorothy Long; 4 brothers, Richard Waltman, Robert Waltman, Martin Waltman, and Craig Waltman. Carl was preceded in death by 4 brothers and a sister. Funeral services will be held from the Reynolds Funeral Home, 144 East State Street, Quarryville, PA on Tuesday at 11:00AM. Interment will follow in Georgetown United Methodist Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00AM until the time of service.
