John “Squeaky” Yaremchak
John “Squeaky” Yaremchak, age 80, of Quarryville, PA died early Tuesday morning
(December 4) on Rt 222 in Strasburg Township as the result of an auto accident. John was born on November 23, 1927 in Blakely, PA a son of the late William and Doras Longazoo Yaremchak. He was preceded in death by his wife Naomi Yaremchak who died 1990. John served in the US armed forces for 21 years in three wars, World War II, Korea, and Vietnam and in three branches of the service, Army, Navy, and Air Force. He was honorable discharged following voluntary retirement in 1967 as a Staff Sergeant. He had been employed for 34 years as a laborer for Frey Brothers, Inc. in Quarryville. He is survived by two daughters, Lindia Gayle Yaremchak of Niceville, FL, Phyllis Haley of Destin, FL; 2 grandchildren, Desarae Yaremchak and Sidney Yaremchak; and a great grandchild Laila Shea; two sisters Pauline Foley and Ann Tobuck. He was preceded in death by a brother George Yaremchak and two sisters Mary Barsh and Stephanie Polizzi. A funeral service will be held on Sunday at 2:00PM from the Reynolds Funeral Home, 144 East State Street, Quarryville, PA.
