Marianna N. Akerman, 89, of Arbor View at Willow Valley, died on Friday, August 22, 2008. She was the wife of the late James B. Akerman
who died in 2001. Marianna had worked as a secretary for E.I. DuPont, Wilmington
in their photo products division. She was a member of Avondale Presbyterian
Church, where she had served as a deacon and trustee. Marianna was an amateur
archeologist and an avid photographer. She was born in Avondale, daughter of the
late Thomas and Laura Whiteside Neel. She is survived by nieces and nephews. A
private funeral service will be held at Reynolds Funeral Home, Tuesday, August
26, 2008 with Pastor Charles Cummings officiating. The burial will be in Union
Hill Cemetery, Kennett Square, PA. Memorial contributions in Marianna’s memory
may be made to Hospice of Lancaster County, PO Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604.
