Francis Crouthamel
Francis R. Crouthamel, age 94, formerly of 777 Drytown Road, Holtwood died late Saturday afternoon at Lancashire Hall where he resided for the past 3 years. He was the widow of Edith Mae Stauffer Crouthamel who died December 30, 2002. Francis was born in Souderton, a son of the late Leidy Norman and Emmaline Ratzel Crouthamel. He was a graduate of Williamson Trade School and following that he immediately went to work at the Holtwood Power Plant, retiring as a control room operator in 1966. Francis was a member of Chestnut Level Presbyterian Church, Quarryville. Following his retirement, he enjoyed traveling. Surviving are four daughters, Jeanette married to Frank Sellers of Pequea, Irene Seitz of Mesa, AZ, Verna married to Ronald Hall of Hooksett, NH, Margaret married to James Smeltz of Quarryville; a son Norman Henry married to Robyn Crouthamel of Jeffersonville, IN; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held from the Reynolds Funeral Home, 144 East State Street, Quarryville, PA on Wednesday, July 2, at 10:00AM with Rev. Michael R. Wilson officiating. Interment will be in Indian Creek Church Cemetery, Telford, PA. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9:00AM until the time of service on Wednesday. Morris Hess
Morris W. Hess, 60, of 2350 Noble Road, Kirkwood, PA, died on Thursday, June 19, 2008 at Essa Flory Hospice Center. He was the husband of Lois Mowrer Hess. They had celebrated 38 years of marriage. Morris had been employed as a welder for Steel Fab Enterprises, Lancaster. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his motorcycle and flying model airplanes. Morris was a member of the Cloud Kings R/C Club, NRA, AMA, and the Eleven Point Hunting Lodge. He was born in Lancaster, son of Elma Hess, Lititz, and the late Earl Hess. In addition to his wife, he is survived by; sister Beverly wife of Harrison Henry, Jr. of Quarryville, PA, brother Barry L. Hess of Lititz, nephew Brian Henry , and niece Dawn Henry Long. The Funeral Service will be held at Reynolds Funeral Home, 144 East State Street, Quarryville, PA on Monday, June 23, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Ken Hash officiating. The burial will be in Willow Street Mennonite Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Reynolds Funeral Home on Monday from 10:00-11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Lancaster County, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604.
