Solanco Senior to Compete in National High School Rodeo Competition
HARRISBURG – Tim Williams, who will be a senior at Solanco High School this fall, has qualified to compete in the 59th Annual National High School Finals Rodeo, which will be held July 22-28 in Illinois State Fairgrounds in Springfield, Illinois. Williams will participate in steer wrestling, with an opportunity to win big prizes and college scholarship funding.

Williams earned a spot on the Pennsylvania High School Rodeo Team and a trip to Illinois by earning points throughout the year at various rodeos, including the Pennsylvania High School Rodeo Association’s finals. Williams will be among the 1,500 contestants (boys and girls) from 40 states, five Canadian provinces, and Australia who will be competing for more than $200,000 in exciting prizes, plus $325,000 in college scholarships, and an opportunity to be named to the National High School Rodeo Champion. To earn this prestigious title, contestants must finish in the top 20 after two go-rounds of intense competition before advancing to the final championship performance.

The National High School Finals Rodeo, billed as the “World’s Largest Rodeo”, will be featured on a live audio webcast via Horsecity.com. Click HERE for a tentative schedule.
Updated daily results from the competition will be posted on the National High School Rodeo Association website, www.nhsra.org.

Tim follows in his older brothers' footsteps as A.J. and Brad have both gone onto Nationals. William’s mother, Diana, is a teacher at Solanco’s Smith Middle School.
