Phelps, Hoff Set New World Records in Swimming
BEIJING -- Both Michael Phelps and Katie Hoff set new world records in swimming last night at the US Olympic Swimming Team Trials.

Barnstormers Fall to Bridgeport, Face Somerset Tonight
LANCASTER -- The Lancaster Barnstormers fell to Bridgeport last night, 5-2. Tonight the Barnstormers will begin a three-game run at home against the Somerset Patriots. The Patriots are tied with Newark (35-26) for the lead in the Freedom Division. Lancaster however trails 27-36.

Herr Signs With Barnstormers
LANCASTER -- Jordan Herr, the younger son of former manager Tom Herr, has been signed to a contract by the Lancaster Barnstormers. Herr, 22, will forgo his senior season at the University of Pittsburgh to play for his hometown team. He batted .274 with five home runs and 32 RBIs for the Panthers this spring. The Hempfield High School grad stole 13 bases in his second year at Pitt.

SECA Sharks Claim Victory Over Denver

DENVER -- The SECA Sharks claimed their third victory of the season Tuesday night over the Denver Sharks. The score was close throughout the meet but SECA pulled a 242-185 victory in the end. Individual results were not made immediately available but will be posted on www.secasharks.com soon. The next meet for the SECA Sharks is at home on July 8. The pool will close at 4 p.m. that day.

Solanco Hosts Rubicon Mini Tournament
QUARRYVILLE -- Solanco will host the Rubicon Mini Tournament. The tournament is divided into two days. On Thursday, July 17 will be the Weight lifting competition (Bench Press). Wrestlers will bench ½ body weight as many times as they can. Then the Takedown Tournament will be Thursday, on August 5. That night competitors will compete for 5 minutes continuous. The best of 5 takedowns wins the Weight lifting Competition. Every wrestler is guaranteed two matches and the competition is open to wrestlers in grades 7 - 12. Click HERE for the registration form.
