Transitioning Dairy Producers Wanted for Survey
HARRISBURG --
Dairy producers transitioning farm ownership to a new owner, or those who have completed the transition process, are invited to participate in a survey.
The Center for Dairy Excellence, in partnership with Penn State Dairy Alliance, is seeking 15-20 dairy producers to help others prepare for the transition process.
“Transitioning farms from one generation to the next, or to new owners, can be a complicated process,” said Center for Dairy Excellence Executive Director John Frey. “We hope to draw from producers’ experiences to help others make as seamless a transition as possible.”
Participating producers will be asked questions focusing on the farm and business transition process. All answers will remain anonymous.
“This project will provide valuable information that can then be used collaboratively by the Center for Dairy Excellence and the Center for Farm Transitions,” said Frey. “We will work together to develop and deliver resources to Pennsylvania dairy producers involved in farm transitions.”
