Cutler Recognizes Friends of the Railroad Museum of PA
HARRISBURG— A resolution introduced by Rep. Bryan Cutler (R-100) to proclaim September 27, 2008, as "Friends of the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania Day" was passed unanimously in the House Monday.

"The railroad museum is an important historical and tourism destination in my district, and the Friends of the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania deserve special recognition for the time and capital they have invested to ensure its success," said Cutler. "I want to express my gratitude to the Friends of the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania for their tireless support of southern Lancaster County's world-class museum."

Among their accomplishments, the group has been instrumental in many significant museum expansion projects, such as the Stewart Junction railway education center, the addition of the Restoration Shop, the renovation of the front entrance and the acquisition of many artifacts and collections on display at the museum.

The organization was chartered in 1983 "to provide support to this Commonwealth's official Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania." They are marking their 25th anniversary of preserving railroad history this year.
