POETRY CORNER
In This Field
I was walking in this field,
When I saw this flower,
It smelled so sweet,
Its beauty was so great,
Bending down to pick it, I stopped
And just stared at it.
It was so alive, so straight, so very proud.
Instead I smiled, and straightened up,
I turned and walked away,
For it was enjoying its time,
As we had enjoyed our time,
So many years ago,
In this field.

Four of Us Again
To My Big Sister
I heard that you were very sick.
That night I dreamt that my door was open
For the second day in a row
I am sorry I could not be there for you
When you needed me the most.
Last night in my dreams
My door was open but it was closing slowly
Until it shut, when I awoke I knew that
You are now resting in peace.
My love will always be with you,
Once there was the four of us
Now there is only me
You are now with Mom and Dad
I will await our reunion.
Then there will be the four of us again.
Sis rest in peace
I will live here until it is my time
Then there will be the four of us again

A Unique WWII Story Told from a Jewish-Polish Soldier's Perspective
NEW YORK, NY
— Much has been written of World War II from the perspective of
the American and British soldier. It is rare to find a book written from the
perspective of a soldier from occupied Europe, let alone a Jewish soldier.
"Breaking Borders", Alexander Harris' autobiography, tells the story of his experiences as a displaced Polish Jew during and after World War II.
