Are Your Township Elected Officials Guilty of a Crime?
The Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes CRIMES AND OFFENSES (TITLE 18 Section § 2705,Recklessly Endangering Another Person)
states: A person commits a misdemeanor of the second degree if he recklessly engages in conduct, which places or may place another person in danger of death or serious bodily injury.
With the lack of local police departments in Solanco area, does this contribute to the crime rate on the southern end of Lancaster County? Just what is the REAL CRIME RATE in Solanco? After all, you only have a crime when it’s reported to the police and if the crime is not reported then there is no crime.
How many time has something turned up missing, homes broken into, things taken, animals killed or missing, smashed mail boxes and were not reported to the police but maybe mentioned to the township supervisors in passing and no action taken.
How about domestic violence Section § 2711 Probable cause arrests in domestic violence cases.
(a) General rule. --A police officer shall have the same right of arrest without a warrant as in a felony whenever he has probable cause to believe the defendant has violated section 2504 (relating to involuntary manslaughter), 2701 (relating to simple assault), 2702(a)(3), (4) and (5) (relating to aggravated assault), 2705 (relating to recklessly endangering another person) 2706 (relating to terroristic threats) or 2709(b) (relating to harassment and stalking) against a family or household member although the offense did not take place in the presence of the police officer. A police officer may not arrest a person pursuant to this section without first observing recent physical injury to the victim or other corroborative evidence. For the purposes of this subsection, the term "family or household member" has the meaning given that term in 23 Pa.C.S. §6102 (relating to definitions).
Just how long does it take the State Police to respond to a Domestic Violence Incident on a good day, let alone a bad weather day? Would this delay in police service contribute to the possibility of a despite escalating to an assault? Would the availability of a local police officer responding possibly save a life? Statistics have pointed to YES.
How about traffic incidents and accident, such as racing on the highway, drunk driving, speeding, reckless driving, driving through farmers field’s causing damage to the crops, would a person of reasonable intelligence do any of these things if there were a marked police car seen in the area and there were a chance he or she would be caught and ticketed or arrested for their actions.
Elections are coming, and if you feel that those that serve now do not have the best interest of the all the people in mine, its time to replace them. It’s your government, and it suppose to be Of The People, By The People and For ALL THE PEOPLE.
Remember to register to vote, and then vote.
