We keeping hearing on the news and reading in the print media that the tree huggers keep saying that the global temperature of the earth has been rising at an alarming rate and that in as little as 100 years or less, the earth will be so warm that the ice caps and glaciers will be gone, a large amount of the land masses of the earth will be under water.
You hear from this one and that one that the global warming is being caused by an increase in carbon dioxide from the use of fossil fuel in the cars we drive, the trucks that carry the freight, the mass transit system as well as the air craft that fly over our heads every day but is the problem or is government the real problem
If the tree huggers were sincere, they would be going places in their GREEN POWERED VEHICLES.
If the government lawmakers and elected offices were sincere, they would also be going places in TAX PAYER GREEN POWERED VEHICLES. All official local, state and federal truck, car, bus would be a GREEN POWERED VEHICLE, but they are not.
Now lets look at some of the causes of these omissions and where they come from. Lets start with a traffic jam. I would say that there would be a concentration of gas there; what about waiting in that drive through fast food, bank lane, there is some more gas, and now the biggie, how about that long drive to work, shop or play.
If the government was going to try and cut that air pollution, why not start with de-centralizing every thing and put the government, work places and shopping places with in say a 15 mile radius of towns and cities, cutting the driving time as well as fuel use and highway congestion.
What would you say the reaction would be if you were limited to say 5 gallons of fuel a day or 50 mile a day total, that is what would happen if the government would go to fuel rationing like during world war 2, that would as some would say be a real bummer as well as un-realistic in this time in history, and what would you say if you received a clean air tax on any travel you mite do over that, now that would be 50 miles per house hold and not each person. Now that would be side effects something like 50 * 365 = 18 250 miles per house hold, and anything over that you would receive a CLEAN AIR BILL when your vehicle would get inspected at say .10 cents per mile over.
Lets see, the side effects would be lets start with less use of gasoline which would mean less dependency on foreign oil, less highway congestion, less time on the road and more time at home with family, working were you live, shopping were you live which would mean the end to those Mega Malls and Wal-Mart. Less mileage would also mean lower auto insurance.
It would also get rid of all the government offices being located in a one-stop location and spread out among the people for better service.
The drawbacks of this plan, business and industries would have to relocate back into the commutes, which would mean more local jobs and smaller profits. If people take local vacations instead of the far a way ones it would keep the money local instead of some other clime and place, less air travel, less bus travel, less rail travel which all add up to less use of fossil fuel and would improve the air quality for all and reduce the dependency on foreign oil.
Places that depend on the tourist for an income would be in deep do-do.
The other thing that government could and should do is promote and finance research and development of alternate energy and bio fuels, this to would help to cut carbon dioxide from the use of fossil fuel in every day life.
Election is nearing and you the voters need to let your representatives know how you feel about the high cost of fuel which interns raises the cost of all other products and food used every day leaving you the taxpayer with less and less money to spend on the good things in life.
This is said to be a government of the people and by the people and the writers made it clear that this type of government should not perish, get involved, register to vote and vote. Let those that you elected know that you are and have been watching and that change will be coming if they are unable to change the good-o-boy way of thinking, that they were elected by the people to serve all the people and not just the ones with special interest that fund campaigns.
