National Animal ID Continues to Raise Concerns
I have read quite a bit about the proposed NAIS, mostly from government documents. The possibility of this being foisted on animal owners of all kinds has all the rural people I know up in arms! This is so very invasive, and goes against all our country is supposed to stand for! It is against several constitutional rights, and will drive out the small farmers, causing the food buyers to become totally dependant on factory foods, produced for high profit without any concern for health of people or animals.

This must be fought and defeated! The USDA and agribusiness, along with the producers of the chips and tags to be used on the animals would be the only ones to benefit if this goes through. I hope we, the people, will be able to convince our elected officials to block NAIS except on a voluntary basis, so that those who believe they need it for the global sales of food (which is where it got it's beginnings, not for disease control at all) can try to use the program for their benefit. But the rest of us should be left to make our own decisions, and not have it forced on us when it is of no benefit, and will only hurt us.

I wish all people would educate themselves on what NAIS is really about and what it will do and cause. Googling NAIS will lead to many informative sites.
