NAIS is Bureaucratic Boondoggle
If National Animal ID is such a great idea why are only 10-15% of American farms registered? Answer: Because it isn't a great idea. NAIS is the worst bureaucratic boondoggle to come out of Washington in a long time. USDA has released no budget, gives no answers to questions , releases contradictory documents, and offers "incentives" to states and individuals to register. Sorry guys, it isn't working. American small farmers want their freedom to farm in the traditional ways without having to call USDA every day and tell them Bessie got out. Read the REAL plan on the aphis site if it hasn't been taken down. It certainly doesn't correspond to the pap being fed producers and the media.
