The first incident occurred on Friday, November 10, 2000 at 6 p.m. in the Spread Eagle Mobile Home Park on Route 272 in Providence Township. The suspect raped a 69 year-old woman inside her residence.
The second incident occurred on Thursday, November 8, 2001 at 6 p.m. at Conowingo Road and Church Road in East Drumore Township. An 18 year-old female was riding her bike when the suspect approached her on foot, assaulted her and then raped her in a field.
Evidence taken from both women, specifically DNA, prove that the same person raped both women, said Sgt. Douglas Burig of the PA State Police (PSP). The suspect has not raped again since 2002 as far as State Police know. The suspect could be incarcerated for a different; he could even be deceased.
"They are lucky to be alive," said Sgt. Burig, adding that both rapes were brutal.
A Serial Rapist is a rapist who has raped two or more victims on different dates. What is the first rape for one Law Enforcement Jurisdiction, may be the sex offender's sixth rape. In this case, one rape was in Providence and the other in East Drumore; however, both of those municipalities are in State Police coverage areas. Anyone with information should contact PSP at 717-299-7650. The lead investigator is Tpr. Dewalt.
