State Police Stop
Theft in Progress
QUARRYVILLE -- State Police caught a thief in the process of
dumpster diving at a Quarryville business. Douglas M. Lynch was
in the process of taking scrap metal from a dumpster at Maude
Welding, Inc. in the 100 block of N. Church Street. Lynch was
putting the disposed metal into the back of his 1988 Chevrolet
Blazer which was backed up against the dumpster, according to
Tpr. Donn Reid. The dumpster was located at the north side of
the business. Lynch was taken into custody for theft at the
scene and charges were filed before District Justice Stuart
Mylin. The incident occurred at 5:41 a.m. April 2.
